5 Shoe Styles We’ve Been Seeing Everywhere This Season

Whether you see it on the runway or on the streets, you can’t deny that a pair of shoes can easily transform any outfit. And this season, there are a couple of shoe styles that have caught every fashion girl’s eye. So if you’ve been grabbing the same pair of shoes lately, maybe it’s about time you give your overused shoes a break and throw in a new on-trend style to keep your wardrobe up to date.
From Chanel’s pointy two-tone mules to Miu Miu’s ballerina shoes (that we’ve been seeing everywhere), we scoured the stores and found out how you can get in on this season’s must-have shoes without leaving a hole in your wallet.

FAVORITE SUMMER SANDAL STYLES

Good morning, Everyone! I hope you week is going great! I am very excited to partner with Marc Fisher LTD yet again to talk a little bit about my favorite shoe trends coming in for SS16. Though there are certainly more than a few amazing shoe trends coming in for this Summer, one of my personal favorites is definitely the blocked heel trend. Why do I love the blocked heel so much? Well, aside from the fact that I have a soft spot for heels in general, I think a blocked heel is a great combination of beauty and function. Comfortable and stylish, to me, it's a perfect style to pair with your casual looks.

Those of you who happen to love heels as much as I do, can probably agree that heels add much more than just aesthetic value to an outfit. In reality, they change proportions and help to elongate your silhouette. But as much as I love high heels, I feel that they always add a touch of dressiness to the look and some outfits just work better with a more casual option. You could of course opt to wear flats, but if you are a heels kinda girl like me, than a blocked heel is the answer.
Take today's look for example. Though I certainly could have paired this suede mini and a slightly oversized lace-up blouse with a pair of high heels, going with something a bit more casual, like these Fawn gladiator sandals, gives this outfit a much more easy-going, nonchalant appeal. But because these sandals have a blocked heel, they add a bit of lift and help to elevate this look from super simple to polished and sophisticated.
What about you guys, how do you feel about blocked heel trend?

DIY RIPPED PEARL JEANS

diy-pearls-ripped-jeans_6
I randomly clicked on Gigi Hadid’s Twitter account the other day and noticed her header photo was of just her knees, wearing jeans with strings of pearls within the rips in her jeans… AND I LOVED IT!
I’ve done a lot of pearl embellished DIYs, and even a pair of DIY Pearl Embellished Jeans, but I never thought about interweaving the pearls among the rips.
I did far fewer pearl strands than my inspiration photo, because I wanted just a subtle pearl moment, but you can do as many as you like!

Inspiration…

Here’s What You’ll Need…

DIY Pearl Embellished skinny boyfriend jeans-1
  • Ripped jeans… or rip em yourself
  • Plastic pearls… I used a small pearl and then seed beads in between
  • Needle/Thread/Scissors
NOTE: this took me about five minutes to complete!
Also NOTE: Although you CAN machine wash these, I’d probably hand wash them and hang or lay them to dry.

Steps…

Double thread your needle and knot the end.
Make sure your thread is at least a few inches longer than your rips… thread your needle through your jeans at the corner/side of your rips and knot it.

String on your beads with a little space in between them.
Every so often, create a knot around a seed bead so that your beads stay within their specific area instead of just all falling to the center of the thread.

Make sure you keep your thread as loose as the threads in between your rips so that they will hang in the same fashion. You don’t want them too tight against your leg.
Bead until you get to the other side, and knot your thread through the edge of your denim rips… make sure you secure it in a place that isn’t going to rip more and just fall out.
Add as many strings of pearls as you like!

And… Voila!
